Why is this so hard?

I'm trying, I really am.  I'm trying to stick with girls, and it doesn't seem to be working.  And you guys - I fucking hate your timing.  It sucks.  How come all the cute guys only start taking interest in me when I've decided I can't have them?  Take my pal Aaron for instance - we've just recently started hanging out enough for him to earn some ( Read more... )

"I know that religion says that it's wrong. But this is also the same religion that once found it inappropriate to say PANTS, and also condones incest. Don't believe me, ask me, I'll show you where."

Which Bible are you reading out of? I mean, which version? If it's anything Catholic (esp. Roman Catholic), then THAT'S why. "Back in the day", only the pastors (or whatever they called them) where allowed to read the Bible and they told others what was supposedly in it. They added a bunch of their own shit to please themselves and things they thought would give them more power over the people. I've been studying the Bible for a VEEEERY long time - since before I could even use a computer - and I've never seen anything about not being allowed to use the words "pants". Tell me the exact scripture, please.

Also, I've seen a lot of parts of the Bible where incest was undoubtedly involved (ie. Adam and Eve's children, Noah's family, etc.). Just because they talk about people doing something in the Bible and God not doing anything about it (Or maybe he did, and the Bible just doesn't say anything about it?), doesn't mean God doesn't look down upon it.

Okay... I didn't mean the BIBLE said anything about pants - but on the incest thing - it's there. Shortly after the destruction of Sodom. I'll show you the exact text sometime, but I'm not getting up off my ass to go get a bible. And when you said it doesn't mean God doesn't look down on it - Why not? He tells us when everything else is wrong. Or maybe it just had to do with the preservation of the human race? I dunno.

Well, he says in Leviticus (I'll find exact scripture later) that incest is wrong and maybe he thought that was all we need? People eat pork and God says not to do THAT, but we don't hear some booming voice from above everytime we eat hot dogs saying, "PUT THAT DAMN THING DOWN".

But whatever. I'm probably wrong, so I'll just shut up now.
