I don't know what I'm doing--yeah, I have a tag for that

So, this week I not so surreptitiously put my real name on my LJ. I've tried to keep the streams from crossing too badly, but I haven't really been that careful. I know I have many fannish people friended on FB, cheek-by-jowl with my other friends and family.

I know that fandom is less and less a weird subculture and is instead a huge group of (in my experience) women all over the world who write stories for each other and discuss and enjoy media together.

But if I succeed with this novel (eventually) I'm going to have to start using my real name here and elsewhere. I'm not too fussed, but I will probably lock more posts that are strictly fannish. Or I will just say, "Fuck it." And post everything in public and decide not to care. I really don't want to go the separate blogs route, though I might have to.

I'm just realizing I should think about this before just blithely going in whatever direction I fall into at the time.
