A Lesson in Politics
A quickie I realized during a brief conversation about politics:
No one wants social change. They want the comfort of knowing that their lifestyles will remain as cozy as it is now, but at the same time they want to appear liberal and revolutionary in thought. That's why politicians like Obama and Clinton are taking the lead in the run for Democrat candidacy, because they are innovative on the surface but as conservative as the rest of them in their policies. What sounds better than the voting for the first woman or African American president?
.....Well, besides actually voting for a candidate that focuses on respecting individual choice, benefitting the vulnerable, and protecting the future of the planet, of course.
