Day 21: 36.5k
Oh, today was a good day. I haven't had such an awesome writing day in so long. I'm going to keep writing too. I was actually hoping to get to 40k while I was on such a streak, but I got distracted earlier today and haven't been able to get back to the story. That's okay, I'm still feeling in the zone, so I'll just keep writing tonight.
Now, I'm going to eventually go back to this character who was introduced in thick as blood as the lover of one of the brothers. Her name was Ceridwen and I wrote her as the really fun happy girl. Now, I'm still loving her character, but I'm wondering what to do with her. In the original, this series has been in the works for a long time, this character got pregnant and sort of forced the brothers to accept her into their family. In this version, they've become lovers, but I haven't written any consequences.
I'm trying to figure out how plausible it is. In her particular culture, lineage is passed down through the male so if she should get pregnant then she might actively search him out. In his particular culture it's passed down through the females, so if she gets pregnant and he finds out he might just leave her be, since he feels she's better off without him. This is all moot since there is a zombie invasion, but I'm trying to reason out what a pregnancy may or may not do to my story. I don't want to completely rule it out just yet, because the way my brain works if I add a plot point like a surprise baby I might just use it later on in the story and I don't want to handicap myself by adding or not adding this baby so I'm kind of at a standstill right now. Does anyone have any thoughts?
