Day 10: 13.5k
Day 11: 15.5k
I had written 500 words yesterday, but just felt like it would be a waste of my time to bother giving it a separate post. I'm finding that this story is completely new ground in all aspects. I don't know if I mentioned it, but it's turned into steampunk, which I've never written before and I might have read one or two things in that genre before. I know during December I'm going to have to read a lot of steampunk, so that when I edit Tick, Tick, Tick I know what I'm talking about. I'm sort of writing out of my ass right now. Also, it has a style that I've never done before. There's this main narrative, but I'm breaking it up with flashbacks on the characters that Crow meets.
Has anyone else experimented with a new style of writing? How has it worked for you? Did you enjoy it or vow never to try that again?
Also, I am going to catch up this weekend. If I write for fifteen minutes straight at the top of the hour starting at 10 tomorrow. I will catch up, especially if I'm as on fire as I was at the write in today 1300 in 30 minutes. Whoo. Go me. I am still 5000 words behind. Grr. I want to aim for 5k Saturday and Sunday.
