I actually came across that on my own, babe, and I was wondering if that was you. (Unfortunately I came across it after the comments were already closed.) It sounded like you - articulate, well-spoken, and perhaps more outwardly accepting of the [FUCKING STUPID] criticism from [FUCKING IGNORANT] people than you might have been.

Those people don't know what they're talking about. Don't they see that by attacking other feminists, by turning on other women (and not in the hot way), they're supporting the partiarchy far more than you are by enjoying your kink?

Hell, if inequality of power and of rights is a partiarchal state as they say, then they, by suggesting that they have the right to enjoy their vanilla sex without guilt but you've got to be sufficiently guilty before you engage in your kinky stuff, they are reinscribing partiarchal oppression. You aren't. They are.

They are also, by arguing that your personal sexual choices aren't "real" choices because they were made in a partiarchal society, not only suggesting that no choice made in this society - not even theirs - is a "real" one, but they are suggesting that you do not have sufficient moral agency to know your own mind and conscience and to make the choices that are best for you. And you do have that moral agency, and you are making the choices that are best for you. And fuck all of them. They're as blind as they claim you are.

I've been wanting to say all of this stuff for the past few days now, and I'm glad I finally got to do so. I just wish I'd gotten the chance to do it publicly instead of here.

I guess it was maybe Gandhi who said "be the change you want to see in the world," or words to that effect...I feel strongly that the less I lose my temper, the more rigorously I adhere to the rules of civil interaction, the more strenuously I avoid DISHING OUT A SAVAGE ASSWHOMPIN TO SOMEONE WHO IS CLEARLY BEGGING FOR IT, the better example I set for people who believe, as I do, that the whole point of a discussion is not to "win" but to learn. so occasionally that makes me appear overly tolerant to the untrained eye; it's all part of my master plan.

but really, I should have known better than to get involved at all.
