they said im smart.
its so weird at work, they think im some sorta genius and that im like..awesome. granted, i do my job to the best of my abilities, but i get praise like all the time...it kinda makes me paranoid...bc i get worried that they're gunna find out that my job is really bullshit..lmao. i hope they dont catch on. i do get a lotta work bc they see that i can handle the workload but they think it's like hard stuff *shrugs* nerdpower!
today i had a simple question about like if i had to create any more client profiles to implement into our new billing system. in my bosses office with my boss and the IT supervisor...we had like a 30 min convo about the changes that are going to be made to the system and what not...all great stuff. but at the end on the convo, the it lady says "its so funny bc i dont even know why we're explaining this all to you...i guess its because we dont have anyone smart to talk to here and we're venting it on you bc ur so smart"
i just smile and say that i didnt want to interrupt. i politely say "so how many do you need me to make?" there's a big laugh about everything and my boss who talks 3454354 miles a minute just says "pick the clients you want and just do a few more."
as a side note: i hate how everything i type out at work must be in CAPS, its quite annoying since i always type in lower case...in AIM speak...typing caps is like..shouting is it not? or like expressing anger. hahaha i guess working 9-5 in a job that deals with making ppl pay you or else...will make you an angry person...well at least you'll type that way.
there are a lotta loud ppl here at work. not the loud that are funny and that you can smile at bc they're being funny without knowing it. they're that imposing, obnoxious, "oh my god im so funny it hurts" loud...well at least they think they're funny. the billing dept has a supervisor thats literally dumb as a bag of bricks, and it makes me wonder how she got to be a supervisor...one of the VP's here looks like the guy from Family guy...and he deals directly with her...and her cleavage...LMAO...too bad her face is horse-ish lmao
everyone here is so afraid of upper management its scary. they're just ppl that climbed the ladder quicker and earlier...that doesnt mean they're any smarter or work any harder, more efficiently or better. the one guy that looks like Peter Griffin from the Family Guy prides himself in catching ppl by the timeclock when they stroll in 2 mins late and reminds them "your a little late there guy" if i do come in late (according to his watch), i do remind him that the time on the timeclock says 830am. either, he should take his fat ass and buy a new watch that works...or synchronize it with the timeclock..bc its annoying. and yes i can make fun of his fatness...im fat...but this guy is probably in the area of 450-500lbs.
despite the oddities and funkyness of my job, its not bad. i dont have ppl breathing down my back, i make OK money..but not great, i have my own desk that i can make pretty, ppl marvel at the fact that i have artwork as my background for my desktop...(ppl here usually have the default bg...to me its no biggie), im able to do my work expeditiously, and i keep my desk organized. oh yeah, some of the ppl here arent so bad either.
im really sorry i havent been available online lately. i think ill take some time out later tonite to comment and stuff on everybody. being out of the loop is sucky. if anyone wants to hang just gimme a call =) 2019788277.
besides work, everything seems to be going pretty awesomely!
lauren and i finally got everything moved in and put together. the apt is looking really pretty. we do unfortunately have some cockroaches tho, being that we live in an apt building. but we bought some dry boric acid from home depot the other day..and that should take care of those fuckers =).
lauren and i are doing well our two year anniv is on the 5th..w0oot!...and i love her more n more...its pretty interesting to see how two ppl live together, getting used to each others idiosyncrasies, and being able to spend time alone together..in our own place. its pretty fun. bills aside. the bills are gettin taken care of tho..muahahah
we should be getting sidekick 3's pretty soon lmao. and more excitingly the nintendo wii when it comes out. cant wait!
i guess if i have time ill be updating more in the next few days
