CHARACTER NAME | Hatate Himekaidou
CHARACTER SERIES | Touhou Project
CANON POINT | Post-Double Spoilers
DESIRED CLASS & REASONING | I'll go with Shadow Warlock, considering long-range magic battles are the norm in this canon~

BACKGROUND | http://touhou.wikia.com/wiki/Hatate_Himekaidou
PERSONALITY | Hatate is, on the whole, a self-centered person. She avoids doing work at every opportunity, and rarely thinks of interacting with others. She's set herself up as a reporter, but despite this, lacks any sense of professionalism. She complains, she slacks off, and even indirectly insults the subjects of her articles. Of course, a person like this has a naturally straightforward outlook on life. Hatate could avoid working with her abilities, so she did. She couldn't understand Aya's popularity, so she found out. Putting thought into things never even occurs to her.

Along with that self-centered nature, Hatate has a unreasonable level of pride. She makes a note to avoid mentioning Momiji's skill in her articles, to make sure she didn't draw attention from herself. This unwarranted self-importance applies to most of her comments, with her brushing off the kappa as 'amphibians', claiming 'they're just, like, food'. To be honest, this actually applies to her views on... everyone. She assumes all humans must hate Yamame for her abilities, claiming that people who can stand those like her are 'so totally cool'. That Hina must be a malicious spirit due to her nature. That the tengu are oh so much greater than the humans she relies on for her newspaper sales, and so on. On top of that, she has no sense of culture, brushing off traditions and honour as nothing to a 'modern' reporter like herself.

She essentially lives in her own little world, where her newspaper is actually popular, and she'll get somewhere by printing news people already know about.

FIRST-PERSON SAMPLE |

Ugh. Is this forest, like, meant to be so disgusting? It's so oooooold~! People who can put up with boring places like this, there's totally something wrong with them. And what about all the bugs? Way too many legs!

... That'd make a good article. "Intrepid Modern Reporter Takes Steps Into Ancient World!". I'd need a good angle though. Aaah, why is this so much work!? Games like this were made to be fun! Can humans make anything right!?

THIRD-PERSON SAMPLE |

It was a good day to relax. It was an even better day to get some work done, while relaxing. Things like that were easy for Hatate, especially when she had so many people to do half the work for her. So, flicking the odd keyword or two into her camera, she sat, spun in her chair, and waited for something good.

'Incident' had seemed a good start. A few thousand photos made their way to her, and into her beautiful (Kappa-made, never let it be said she was prejudiced. Just... 'kinda biased', to use her own words.) camera.

A few thousand bits of junk really. Who wanted a picture of the Scarlet Mist Incident's instigator? The old vampire was a boring person, childish and totally not worth interviewing. What gave that old bat the right to look down on her, a tengu? Not only that, a high, modern, working tengu?

Ugh. She needed to relax more. She'd run the photo anyway. Maybe she could take a leaf out of the Bunbunmaru's book and make something up.

"Huhuhu, it'll have to do. I, like, don't have time for this. I need my beauty sleep and all! The newspaper gathering is tommorrow, and I'll look totally inappropriate without it."
