So very ferocious!
(Click on 2nd pic and make it larger, it's worth it)
This is what long snouts are for... knocking over Mommies milk glass
and then getting the residual goodness inside...
The Vet, Dr. Pope and his lovely asst Jackie were very impressed with our Miss Awen. They poked her and prodded her (including the thermometer up the butt fun) and gave her shots, cleaned her ears and clipped her nails. Throughout the entire visit, she never even growled, complained or whimpered. She's beautiful and healthy! You know you have a great vet when he picks up the puppy, pets her enthusiastically and then kisses her on her head. I have never seen a more well behaved little girl at the Dr. (In fact, she was much better behaved than certain other little girls when it came to getting shots... hahahahha)
We've started her on her heartworm protection (Luckily she likes the taste of that pill because trust me, Doxies do know how to spit out other medicine even when hidden in food...) Anyhoodles we were going to start her on the HeartGuard ASAP anyhow but if we had any doubt, it was taken away by THE JAR. There was a large pickle jar with a heart in it and when I asked the Dr. what is was, he said it was donated to him. He pulled it off the shelf and sat it on the exam table before us and it was ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww but cool in the interesting he satisfied my curiousity kind of way. The heart had fallen to heartworms. I was like "wow... they are like spaghetti!" Serious on that btw. Cooked spaghetti. He laughed and said that's what he thinks of but rarely says that as people then seem to get an aversion to pasta.
Time to play with Awen. She's tugging on my skirt again...
