In a nutshell:
"Fibromyalgia is a debilitating chronic syndrome causing pain, stiffness, and tenderness of the muscles, tendons, and joints. Fibromyalgia is also characterized by restless sleep, awakening feeling tired, fatigue, anxiety, and depression. The nature of fibromyalgia is not well understood, and there is no cure, though it can be managed. It is not contagious, and recent studies suggest that people with fibromyalgia may be genetically predisposed."

"Remember how you felt the last time you had the flu? That's how somebody with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or Fibromyalgia feels on a good day. Imagine running the 26.2 miles of a marathon before you start your day and you can imagine the 24/7 reality of somebody with these disabling conditions. My disabling chronic illness is more real than your imaginary medical expertise. Unless you have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or Fibromyalgia, you can't begin to know what "being tired" is all about."

Fibromyalgia is real, unlike some tv shows and other sources imply. My mom has it, I have it, approximately 2 percent of the US population have fibromyalgia. It's time people learn what it is.
