Things are sufficiently different from how they were five months ago, so I can justify making another entry. They're actually very different!
First: A short list of things I did this summer.
1. Worked.
2. Socialized.
3. Vacationed.
4. Loafed.
5. Had a birthday.
I left for Gettysburg in the last week of August, arrived and moved in two days later, and classes started last week, on August 31st. After some ridiculousness with getting the required classes in order, I am now enrolled in two exciting classes, one somewhat challenging class, and one class that I took last year in high school. Lame!
There was ridiculousness with my classes because I had originally enrolled in four classes, none of which were science-related. This was a problem because I am majoring (and minoring!) in a science. I had to add biology, which meant I had to drop women's studies. Then I had to add chemistry, so I had to drop an art class. After one day of class, I remembered how incredibly tedious it is to start learning a new language (in this case, French) and decided to drop that in favor of a class that would help me graduate sooner; since I tested out of the second language requirement with Spanish, French was completely frivolous. So I dropped French and am now taking a Classics course. Then I joined the orchestra.
I've been enjoying my time here so far. My residence hall's name rhymes with itself, a fact which sent me into throes of elation upon learning my housing assignment. My roommate and I get along well, and I've made a few other acquaintances. I may or may not be attending a Disney movie night at some point in the future. I also like my academic advisor, mostly for his bizarrely thick eyebrows, kindly nature, and appreciation for the courses I had initially chosen to take this semester.
I've started a countdown of the days until Thanksgiving break, because that is the soonest I will be able to see my cats again. I miss them! Related item: I was seriously considering taking some snails here, so I could at least have some sort of pet. For now, I still have Romzdskimmr.
