I just completed 2 weeks of VISTA training with another week for RCM soon to follow. I'll be quite okay if I dont ever see another power point presentation. However, I am really stoked to get the year started and keep the program moving in the right direction. I'll be part of a consortium of Allegheny, Gannon, Edinboro and Mercyhurst, along with about 25 other VISTA volunteers in Erie and Crawford county organizations that are working to make it a better place for children and youth in poverty...woot, go us.
Unfortunately, I'm still not in my apartment (which I will be moving in the 90 degree heat tomorrow) but I don't have a fridge. And of course, i got the VISTA curse of a flat tire. boo.
On the up, I'm really excited to be working with a bunch of pretty sweet people. The VISTA folk rock, and I'm sure we'll make the most of the 25 cent drafts in town.
