It's so amazing to be here. We arrived and got our Visas. Everyone is on motorbikes and almost every building has a shop underneath. There are so many people selling things on the corner.

Our hotel is amazing. Soaking that up cause we will only be here for 5 days then we go to the provinces.

August 6th,

Yesterday Jenna and I helped do some simple office work at the Children At Risk office. It helps children in the poor areas get sponsors to help them with school supplies. It was crazy to hear some of the children were almost alone because their parent died of diarrhea. Something we have medicine for.

We met Passat and had a cambodian meal on the floor. It was really cool.

Then we went to New Life where they have Joy Club every thursday and they pick up 250 street children and wash their hands and feet, tell them bile stories, sing, and give them a small sack with food and water.
When I walked up the stairs I was overwhelmed to see that many children. They would come up to us and giggle and ask our name but that's about all the English they know. Some would just hug you.

Their hands and feet were washed because of the layers of dirt and filth they walk in. One little boy had a gash in his foot so Autumn asked me for my first aid kit and I put gloves on and began to help him. When I looked up there was a swarm of children around me all pointing at some kind of sore or wound that needed my attention. So I just dove in. Fixing as many as possible. I ran out of band-aids so I had to start cutting gauze and using tape. Some were small cuts and others were open sores all over. I can't explain the feeling of them looking into your eyes and knowing you don't verbally understand eachother but how thankful they were.

Then I noticed some boys were getting back in line after I had already treated them and it I saw them..they were literally picking off their scabs to come get care from me again. Other little girls were pointing to old scars..lol...they just wanted love and a band-aid lol.

I look over and there's a little down syndrome girl. She had my heart! She was the most precious thing. She ran up to me wit open arms and I picked her up. She smiled and that's a moment I feel I lived for.

We said goodbye and then helped all of the children down the stairs. They all bowed their little heads at us and said bye.

It was AMAZING.

We then got to talk for a bit with some of the english students. They loved talking to us because they rarely get to practice talking to English people. One girl made me origami out of her money. Another girl wanted to buy me a tranatula to eat. I was like ugh that's okay maybe later lol. To them it's a delicacy.

Today 4 of us got picked to go visit the slums. The poorest parts of Cambodia.

I wouldn't trade this experience for anything.
