As soon as she got back from her class of the day, Mac settled back into a little... project, she'd been working on, poking around behind a company firewall. This was just what happened when Mac got bored.
Normally, you work your way through, erasing signs of your presence as you go. Unfortunately, you do hit a snag when you can't figure out how to get back out again, a little like getting yourself lost in a maze.
In the same way, that tried and tested maze method of backtracking the way that you came in, worked just the same for hacking. If you wanted not to get caught, it was better not to start just bashing your way out through the nearest wall.
Of course, that wasn't working today, and she'd been trying for a good half hour already.
She was currently cursing computer systems everywhere. If she thought smacking her head against the desk would do anything more than kill off extra brain cells, she'd probably be doing that.
