My friends call me MIT...Mister Impeccable Timing

Mar 06, 2005 04:05

This has been a week of odd coincidences, hence the title. That's all that really needs to be said on that matter. Yay! Moving on.

I haven't updated in a while...no time, with projects and whatnot. Stupid midterms, and fucking MySlice that only has three of my classes actually registered, except, oh wait, they're ON MY FUCKING SCHEDULE! Wtf, seriously.

I talked to some of my high school friends this week...that was interesting. It went about as well as I could have hoped for, I guess, though that's not to say it couldn't have gone a hell of a lot better. I just need to give it time, though I thought a month was enough. I guess when you're that big a drama queen (meaning my friends, not me...) it isn't.

Shaina and I have talked a lot lately, and it's been really cool getting to know her. She is a very loyal friend, and it's good to know I have someone who I can bounce idea off of and who bounces ideas off me, and things like that. Add Mackie, and the tenor line next year is going to kick ass. I'm planning on joining it, in case that wasn't conveyed well.

So changing "Keep Phil From Going Insane Night" to Saturday nights? Best idea EVAH! Exciting, and much less tiredness all around. Holla. Tonight also had the added bonus of Dining Hall Tray-Sledding down Lawrinson Hill! Hell yeah! Four trays for six people wasn't the greatest idea, but we managed...oh, did we manage. It really was too much fun to put into words, so here are a few quotable quotes:

Bunger: This hill isn't rated "E" for Everyone!

Phil: Everyone group hug Laura!
Laura: Aaugh! My face!
Me: A group...hugged me in the face!

Plus Mike and Ben, the two stoned roommates, rolling down the hill. Woo!

I must admit though, I almost missed it to work on my screenplay, which would've been a HUGE mistake. But I did get to work on it, and I'm very pleased with my progress. I love how my stage directions are like a story unto themselves...really descriptive. I don't know if that's good or bad, but I'm pretty darn sure it's a little of both. With any luck it will be finished by the end of the semester.

Oh! Speaking of screenplays, I wrote two sketches for PWOP--that's Penguins WithOut Pants, SU's resident sketch comedy troupe, featuring the Drumline's own Dan Luddy. They loved the first one, and I've yet to hear back about the second one, but I'm excited...so this is what it feels like to have your foot in the door...funny, but I thought it would hurt a bit more (that is SO definitely a song lyric for the future...)

What else? SU lost...whatever, let ESPN treat us like shit, it'll be that much better when we rock the tournament, even if we don't actually win. This is going to be my favorite March Madness EVAH! (I love using that word.)

I helped Karen prepare for her (eventual) audition to get into Crouse...well, "helped", meaning I let her into the practice room and gave her my music-student-for-one-months worth advice. She made a lot of progress though, I'm really excited...it would be extremely cool if she got into Crouse and I could have someone to join me as not the only upperclassman in the freshman music classes. Yay!

Rawr--I need a hair cut. Things are getting a bit out of control in that respect.

Alright, final statement. I made the Ultimate Spring Break Mix for Crouse Rats today, so if you are a Crouse Rat, expect to learn about it soon! Laura Long has it right now I think, so this is just a reminder to her (and all of you) to get this going promptly so as many people as possible get it before Spring Break. Thanks!

Okey-dokey, my butt hurts from slipping on some black ice. (It's always a race issue, isn't it?)
