I'm so terrible about keeping up...

I sit here and tell you I'll do a "book of the month" every month and I can't even seem to accomplish that.  *sigh* it makes me wonder if I should give up on LJ (especially since this is a paid account and I barely use it...)

But, not to be one who shirks on promises, here's my favorite books that I read in February and March.

Who Recommended It To Me: No one, really, though I think my friend Jenna recommended A Handmaid's Tale (or it could of been Alex; who really remembers) and I loved it.  I saw this book by Atwood at a library booksale and decided to pick it up.  It was, of course, amazing.

Why I Like It: Because Atwood can write like no one I've ever read before.  Honestly, her book is 90% description.  Very light on the dialogue but it's so BEAUTIFUL that you barely noticed.  If you ever want to feel inadequate about your ability to write... well anything, read her books.

My Review: You can read it over here, at Goodreads.  Realitively Unspoilery.

March:

Who Recommended It To Me: Technically Alex, because she raves about it all the time, but it's a book that's been floating around for quite some time.  I picked up the whole anthology from a book sale, but I haven't read past the first book.

Why I Like It: Because it's funny and it's interesting and... it's different and satirical.  Adams doesn't take himself seriously at ALL, which makes it fun to read.

My Review: Over here, on Goodreads.  Free of Spoilers.
