Jayne POV

We been in hiding now for seventeen years. I released I was pregnant when we were on the second week of our 'road trip'. In the next stop I had to get a pregnancy test. I had been throwing up for two days. We and my husband had been trying for a child, but I didn't think...we had conceived. And my suspicions were proven true. After several more days a lump started to appear and  Robert soon found out. He was so happy. But he was also scared for our unborn child. He drove around looking for an empty house were we could settle down without being found out. After a few more day he found an building site with some very nice looking flats on it. We decided between us that it would be best to set up on one of the top floors. As we got out the kevin when to get the bat out of the car boot. We have found out over the weeks that these things have a weakness to wood so where ever Kevin went he assays had a bat to hand. As we were moving towards one of the flat blocks Robert and myself noticed a curtain move half way up the same block, so as perusal Kevin , being the big bad and blood thirsty for revenge  , went firsts. After a few minuets he came bounding down the stairs with the biggest grin on his face since he lost his wife. I had no clue what he was happy about, maybe he had found a stash of guns or his favourite food, I just didn't know. But he came running up to us and embraced me in the biggest bear hug I have ever been in.
'Were safe, theirs a group of humans in...' he said in such a speed I could barely hear him. But thankfully my husband did.
'What, were, how many.' My husband sounded so happy and I finally understood. Their were humans actual humans. In this building. I couldn't help the tears that flooded over me. I ran past the men and sprinted up the stairs. They were it the they ere on the second third and part of the forth floor. There was so many. They had cookers and heating and bed and oh it was like heaven compared to what we are used to. I didn't care if I didn't know any of the people I just ran around huffing and kissing everyone. Being away from people for so long toke your toll on you. Before I knew it I as crying again, tears rolling down my face, someone patted my back and held a tissue for me. I muffled a 'thank you' and cleaned up my face. With in half an hour me and Robert had our own room and next to us Kevin had his own. The first thing I done was have a shower. My husband had gone down to the other people to socialise. After I had dried my self off a knock came at the door. I shout for them to come in, I didn't care who it coz we were living together, we would see each other a lot. And plus I had a towel on. I sat down on the bed and waited for the guest to come in. After a few more seconds I heard the door open and close.
'Urm...Hi. I'm Susan. I live opposite. How long have you been on the move?' She looked about 20-25
'Hi I'm Jayne. We've been moving about for a month now. What about yourself?' I'm talking to a fellow human!
'We haven't been. I was homeless so I've been squatting here since it was built. I invited the others here from around Cambridge. They're like my family, you know. But that's enough about me. How long have you been pregnant?' How did she know?
'About a month and a half maybe two. Who told you?'
'No one, before I was homeless I used to work in a hospital, I was made redundant and went homeless. I noticed as soon as I saw you. I just wanted to make sure you and the baby are alright.'
'To be honest I'm not competly sure. I havent been checked out.' I was generally worried now, why did she have to bring it up!
'If you want I should cheap you out. I don't have the full equipment that we need but I could make do.'
'Would you?' I got a nod in reply 'Oh, thank you! Thank you so much' She went out and came back a moment later with bits and bobs. Over the following month she became my closest friend. Seven months later the group grew in size, we had to go a second and third block of flats, luckily we had some builders in our group and could reveniate some of the buildings, and I was gifted with a beautiful son.
