...last night was crazy.
I met Mindy at MHS, and we went back to her house to hang out for a while. Tami called her once we got there and told her that the Outback Lodge had mysteriously changed the 18+ restriction to All Ages, thus allowing for the night to go on the way we wanted.
Mindy and I left her house to pick up Tami and her brother, Devon. We dropped Devon off at some convenience store he needed a ride to, then went off to find food of some sort. Given the hour and the day of the week it was, we settled for the horrendously unhealthy yet very attainable fries of McDonald's. Having been fed, we ventured forth to Outback.
The bouncer took our money and stamped our hands, but we didn't find anyone inside to pal around with yet. We wandered out into the parking lot where we found Tami's boyfriend, Robbie, with his new Toyota Corrola. We spent a long time visiting other lurkers of the lot and figuring out how to make the alarm in Robbie's car go off. (We were unsuccessful.)
We went back in to watch the opening act, Crashing Down. I thought they were much better than the "opening act" last time, but the "band" last time consisted of a bunch of guys who had been together for two days and served as an emergency pre-show filler.
After Crashing Down, we were blasted with Rob Zombie for half an hour while the stage was rearranged for Bella Morte.
And...they were amazing, as one can expect.
Amidst all the headbanging, a couple of jerks decided to continually start mosh pits in the middle of floor although moshing is not supposed to go on at Outback. Tami (when she was with us) and Mindy always managed to pull me out of the pit right before I got sucked into it and shielded me from any damage. Unfortunately, Mindy had to take the brunt of a rough patch where some guys continually flung themselves against her despite her screaming at them to stop. She made eye contact with one right before he jumped onto her, and she punched him in the chest.
The heat and excessive vibrations were too much for her, and Mindy turned around to me and told me she was about to pass out. We ran to the back to fetch Tami and her friend Sammy, and we went outside to bring Mindy back to life. We were out there at least twenty minutes, helping her to cool down and regain her strength. Tami ran back and forth to talk to the bar's security and Savvas, one of the regulars with a lot of leverage.
We went back in to catch the tail end of the show, and Tami and Devon managed to tell Andy (the lead singer of Bella Morte) that it was Mindy's birthday. Andy announced this to the crowd and wished Mindy a happy birthday.
Tami, Mindy, and Devon fought their way up to the front, and Tami fetched me up there with them. We finished the show away from the last moshing of the night, feeling much better.
Mindy and Tami talked to Andy after the show and told him that Min had a rough night. He apologized and gave her a kiss on the cheek, then told her he hoped she felt better.
I do believe that kiss made her night. XD
We all wandered back outside and mingled with some people while some frighteningly drunk college kids wandered out of another section of the club dressed as pirates. Tami, Devon, Mindy, and I left after two. We dropped Tami and Devon off at their house, then ventured back to Mindy's house.
I suppose I'm not used to staying up so late several weekends in a row anymore, as I was close to unconsciousness by the time I got to her house. We stayed up for a while playing with Mindy's rat, Bella. It was well after three by the time we crashed.
My phone woke me up a few times this morning, but finally Mom called at noon and told me she was about to come get me.
Mindy and I played with Bella until Mom came to get me. I hugged Mindy goodbye, then drove home (!!!).
Right now, I'm incredibly sore, tired, and not wanting to do any homework. However, the night turned out very well once Mindy came back to life, and I'm glad we're all okay.
Here's to next time!
