It's Friday, I'm in love
So finally after 2-3 years of whining and pining about going to VCU, it finally happened today. Or, at least, I finally did the college visit thing that I've been unable to do for various reasons.
All I can say is:
Oh.
My God.
I get it now. I get the hype around the school. I know now what people are talking about when they find a school they really like. (And yes, I still remember all the bad things that the governor's school kids said about it, and I'm going to disregard them since I have no plans to live on campus.)
And I had an epiphany. If I had ventured anywhere near the campus of VCU in high school, you know damn well I would have stayed on task, applied for financial aid and freshman admission, and gotten the fuck out of here. Granted, I can't go back and change what happened, so now I just have to wait until May and hope for the best.
But ohhhh my god. They have an aquarium in their life science building. An AQUARIUM. And they have two rock climbing walls in their gym. And and the new dorm they're in the process of building is going to have an IHOP Express in it. And and and omg, I hope I get in.
Anyway, equally impressive was the fact that I got Alex to come to Richmond with me. (!!!) We're going to wait to see if I'm offered admission for the fall semester before moving forward with job searches and leases for next year. But again, I should find out in May, so that's roughly a month and a half to two months away. :D
