Was wondering if anyone could answer a question for me. I know there are statutes against the use of underage magic. Yet, there really isn't any magic required to combine potion ingrediants. Does anyone know if we are allowed to practice potions over the summer?

I suppose you would be, so long as it's a legal potion, and such. What are you planning on doing?

I'm not sure what I might end up trying to brew. I just thought that with my OWL year coming up it wouldn't hurt to get some extra practice in since I can't really do anything else.

Yes, that is a very wise idea. I would say to go for it!

Thanks. I hope there's nothing too challenging.

I think as long as it's not an illegal one, or you're not actually using it on someone, then I don't see why there'd be a problem. But you know how the ministery is. Might be worth asking a Professor or something.

Maybe I'll just get my Mum to oversee me as I prepare potions. That way it's a tutorial type thing.

Yeah that might be a good idea. What kind of potion are you thinking of experimenting with? I think I might have a go with something a bit more practical than just reading the books on the reading list. I'm sure I could find half the plants or herbs used in at least one potion from around this village.

Not quite sure yet. I'm doing some extra reading. Just thought it would be a good idea to get a head start on OWL year.
