That awkward moment when, after ten months of persuasion, you finally manage to convince your best mate (and someone you know has fangirling tendencies, and who you have every reason to suspect will be a pilots shipper) to watch Battlestar Galactica ( Read more... )

I thought it was really interesting that they were trying to incorporate that element into the story

Oh yeah, me too. It started out really interesting that they were attempting it at least. And then....

just really small completely inconsequential acting choices which probably meant nothing at all to everyone else but which just really, reeeeeeeally grated on my nerves!

... Fair enough. :D Although, and not to excuse it, but perhaps that's what she envisioned a dying'o'cancer spiritually-sensitive person would be like in a marathon of high-pressure? I don't know. Like crossing Xena with Helen Burns from Jane Eyre?

Stupid bad storytelling choices are stupid and bad.
Also? I second those gifs, and I'm with Colin. *fistbump*

This is a safe place. A circle of trust. Ciiiiircle of truuuuuust. It's okay. *petpetpet*

I do like Jane Eyre, but again, I can see why others don't. You're welcome to expand on this if you feel like it, because I'm curious about your reasons and I like discussing the classics. Or in private, if you're afraid of backlash. ;p

hehehe Well, thankyou :) but when I say 'I don't like Jane Eyre' I mean 'the book' rather than just 'the character'. I am a big reader, and I generally like that era of fiction.... but I have tried four different times in my life to read Jane Eyre, and when my reaction the fourth time was still 'this. is. so. boring. i. hate. it.', I decided that I had tried hard enough and it was ok for me to give up!! :)

And that was a while ago now, so I really can't tell you why I felt like that now, because there's no way on earth I am going to try to read it again :) So I can't give you anything more educated or interesting than, well... 'this. is. so. boring. i. hate. it.' Sorry!!
