Todd Rountree and I are discussing the new series on FX that stars one of our favorite comedians, Louis CK.

He begins his systematic synopsis of the show, breaking it down in a way that only a well-spoken person with a college educated thought process is capable of doing. He begins writing it off after only two episodes which evokes an emotional response with me.

Speaking from pure emotion is kind of my thing, to hell with logic and trends. Because human nature is very emotional and sometimes this is to my advantage. After watching the third episode of Louie i hear by bet, based on pure instinct , that Louie will last at least two seasons (3 would be golden) If everyone's breathing after 2012 we'll revisit this post one day to see who was right.

But...I was playing my all too common devil’s advocate role more than anything. Louis CK shtick can wear thin quickly and become all too predictable after just a few views.

However, this is the FX network. They’ve managed to make Sunny in Philly last 5 years.

Let's give Louie his dues dammit!

This country and youth culture is more jaded than it's ever been. I think his cynicism will inspire a new generation of young adults to totally expect life to fuck them in the ass, leaving very little to hope for.

By the time I’m 40 I’ll make Louis CK look like an overly optimistic cartoon character. That is all, thank you :)
