Should you feel compelled to share, feel free to join me. I was not aware you and the other Turk had parted company.

"The Other Turk" had, er, has a name, you know.

And of all the people in this city, why oh why would I want to share this or anything with you?

Because I am the only one in the whole city who won't pat your hand and tell you it will be better tomorrow, pile useless sympathy on you, give you the 'Go Turks' cheer, or some other useless frippery. I am a monster, but I am an honest monster.

Mmhm, that you are. And I'm miserable, but not desperate. And while the offer sounds actually enticing, terribly enticing in that "I Need Objectivity" sort of way, I think the urge to strangle you might hinder any talking we might be able to do.

Strangling me does little good. I would be forced to break your wrist if you tried and then lecture you on your poor technique while you held your arm in pain.

But I like a working wrist. And my technique is just fine! I know how to strangle someone, dammit! I'm not incompetent!

I would kick your petite body across my cell before you landed one hit. You could strangle a pen perhaps.

...If you make one damn desk jockey joke, I swear, I'll kill you. Shit, if Shu can do it, I KNOW I can.

What is your chair doing without you to hold it down, my dear?

You know, I did like one aspect of you that night long ago. I found that fire so very attractive even if I didn't like the whorish nature.

Trust me, there's more than enough people around here that can sit in a chair and do little else. I'm not one of them.

That night...? Who--OH! ...wait, are... are you...saying what I think you're saying?

That's not what I heard. From what I understand, you were a glorified secretary and coffee-getter.

I am saying that I think you can do better than that man, and I told you that same that night. Is your memory that bad?

Someone was feeding you a nice helping of lies, weren't they? Hope they tasted good.

My memory is just fine! Which is why I knew you never slept with me like you obviously wanted to with the tall tales you were telling. And don't! Don't you dare say anything bad about him! Got it?!

Actually, at the time he said it, Shu was feeding me a rather large batch of acid.

I was saying nothing about him, merely that I think it would take a man as strong as your will to deal with you and be your equal. I don't think you could deal with less. Do feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

...Shu wouldn't say that about me. But the acid, that's impressive. Nice touch. Tell me what else he did; I enjoy stories while I'm drinking.

Shut up.

Strange that he chose to spend his final hours with me than you or even his lover. How very telling. He told me many things. There was a nearly frantic quality to him and his words. I think he knew. The thing he said knowing that he was most likely not coming back.

I see.

Shu placed his work first, a quality I can respect, if not envy. I don't mind that he spent his hours with you, especially knowing what it was that he was exactly doing to you.
And he'll be back. He will...I hope.

There's nothing to see.
