Poetry Post III

I challenge Monday's exhibition first:
A showcase of events prolonging mine.
Anticipation stings, preceding, worst
Than bleakly watching weekly woes unwind.
The second day, enticing nervousness
Relates the hours heavy as a year
And teaches tasks which daily stem my rest
A taciturn, yet torturous career.
And finally, arriving now, the day!
For which anticipation reigns supreme
And hours herald out the hopeful play
Of meeting that romantically may seem.
A presence that wait's termination brings
Presides over all other amorous things.

Tranquility may best be kept at bay
For purposes internal: it is rare,
For that which bears a placid, precious day
Is precious in its disposition fair.
Reluctance is the cousin of content:
It seeks a settlement born out of faith
And though a false secure in time it rents,
It, false, regards this contradiction safe.
In animosity we learn at once
A skill that stems from blatent disrespect
And festers red and hot along the months
Till it's released. Detonation direct.
But love, sweet love, commands so regally:
Controls and compensates for them, these three.
