my top reasons why i enjoyed traveling southeast asia:
1. i got to free myself from the thousand plagues of modern life
2. i got to escape the boring, safe and uniformly predictable developed world
3. i got to explore other cultures, and new ways of thinking. despite the beliefs of many Americans, there were tens of thousands of years of human history prior to the American Empire
4. it was very inexpensive compared to other places, and i got to see and experience so much
5. traveling to another country was sometimes as easy as taking a public bus for an hour
7. it was very hot there, but i was surrounded by paradise(s)
8. i got to explore different morals and lifestyles, far away from Jesusland
9. i got to take a well-earned half year vacation or a "life break," only in America is doing so considered throwing your life away
10. i was surrounded by like-minded travelers from afar, none of whom think America is the center of the universe
i'm 22, and i think it's crazy how young i am and how much life there is to live. this past year i've grown exponentially, with much thanks to the 10+ countries i've visited around Europe and Asia and all the people i've connected with along the way. this upcoming winter i'll be making a trip down to Chile (if anyone's interested), and i cannot wait! the world is such a big and small place <3
well i don't know what i am living for, but i know that i just wanna live some more
