I gave up on trying to the keep the size of my downloads folder down

I don't think I am alone in saying that one of my favourite things about The Sims is how it lets you customise everything and of course downloading custom content made by other players. I think it is what puts it apart from other games and I honestly don't think it would be the same without it. I haven't turned on the game and had another chance to play again, but these past few days I have enjoyed myself immensely by browsing the community, looking at pictures, reading legacies and most of all downloading a lot (A LOT) of content. It seemed like I missed a lot while I was away! But I have really had a lot of fun finding downloads and now my downloads folder is suffering once more. I thought I would show you guys some of things that I found that I really love to make me feel less bad about not posting for so and because it still might be quite a while before I post anything of my own. You all will have probably seen most of this already, but I think it is still fun to share finds! :D

Charterzard's journal is packed with really lovely outfits. Cute little dresses for girls, retextures of sentate's oversized tops (I am starting to get way too many edits of these, but I love these meshes so much that I don't care) and her latest download is a really clever idea that I think I am going to over-use a lot in my game. These are dresses, but on a skirt mesh, which means you layer them with different tops. Cool, huh? And check out the preview of the next in the series. It looks gorgeous!

I love Nilou's style. I had to change my skin defaults to her lovely memories skin set and I probably would change my eye defaults to her equally as gorgeous onomatopea eye set as well, if I wasn't so OCD about having matching sets and too lazy to sort through my eye folder right now and what sims have current geneticised eyes. Nilou has tons of really pretty maxis-matchy stuff. Clothes, hair, makeup... And her pictures are so nice as well. Perfect!

Needlecream is another journal where you can find really great clothing. Everything is really well-made. I particularly love the skirt sets. I was also so happy to find these edits of Soundbeat dresses. I used to really like some of the outfits from that site, and it is sad to see that it is now gone, but I love these edits. The patterns are gorgeous and I think the shoes are a big improvement. Thank you needlecream for sharing these. They made my day. I think I will probably really over-use them.

I can't believe I haven't come across chickpeagreen's, also known as Cosette on GOS, creations before. I love the vintage-y style of them, they are so pretty. All of her sets are really well-made, with loads of differents of patterns and colours. And I so would love to have that maid outfit made into a maid default. I'm looking forward to seeing more from this talented creator.

I really don't need to introduce Anna. Everyone needs to have some of herobject sets in their game. If you looked at my Buy Mode sub-folder, you'd see that literally a quarter of it is made up of her recolours. Not only does she make perfect object recolours, but also walls and flooring, some bodyshop content and she also fantastic at building and decorating. Really a multi-talented simmer. It was great to download her new sets that I had missed. Thank you again Anna for making my game pretty and I can't wait to use these sets constantly as well.

This is really just what I needed. A place where I can download many of the hair meshes I was after, in maxis-match style. Not that I don't mind having a few *shiny* style hair textures in my game, but it's great to have finally found a place where I can find hairstyles in more my style. I think my hair folder has doubled since finding this journal. There is a great variety of hairstyles here and Simgaroop's colour choices are perfect. Yay maxis-match!

As the name suggests, clutter-a-holic is a great place to find lovely clutter. While I have seen a lot of s2-to-s3 conversions around, the creator here is doing the opposite and converting sims 3 content for the sims 2. There is actually some pretty nice stuff in that game, guess I didn't notice it before.

You know that buyable sky we all love? Well psychosim has made it into a neighbourhood object so we can use it in neighbourhood view (see the stunning pictures). You can get the cloudy sky at psychosim's journal, as well as objects to change the water colour, and psychosim has also posted an apocalyptic version of the sky at GOS. Also check out the rest of psychosim's journal for more fantastic neighbourhood deco.

Adele moved sites? When did that happen? I feel so out of it. I was kind of upset when I went to her old site and thought it had closed. Anyway, you all know Adele. She might be one of the most talented creators out there. I am glad to see she has added her object sets to her new site, as they are all really incredible. My style being more maxis-match, I don't really use many of her objects that much, as I don't think it would really fit in anywhere. But that doesn't mean I can't stare at the pictures in awe.

Okay, that post ended up being really fangirl-ish. That is enough for now. I think I have made my point that the sims community is awesome and I have missed it.

And O/T but does anyone get the error "Error updating journal: Client error: Sorry, there was a problem with content of the entry" when trying to post an entry with a lot of links? I had to go through this post cutting out links to download pages when I realised what the problem was. I am also getting that error when trying to edit my resources post. Does livejournal just hate me? I guess I was posting a lot of links though...
