Spring!
Phew. Spring is here. I get one and a half week of blissful laziness.
A lot has happened since I last posted. For one, the job situation is looking pretty darn hopeful all of a sudden. It's not 100%, but it is as good as it gets for a little ol' temp like me.
Two tenured teachers announced their resignation last week. It stunned us all. We are still trying to deal with the aftermath. They were experienced, amazing teachers and it is a real blow to all parties here.
The silver lining is that this new event has freed up some space for me. I could stay. I don't want to get my hopes up but, considering that they would like to keep me and need me because I teach science (we're a rare breed), I think that I have a way better chance of getting to stay here than I do of finding something in Oxnard or Ventura.
So... I'll stay optimistic for now. What a coaster! I'm sure the ride is not over yet.
I finally unlocked Sonic on Smash Brothers Brawl and I couldn't be more pleased with myself.
Well, I did it in a sneaky way. To unlock Sonic, one needs to play 300 competitive brawls. I changed the options to stock-1 and chose a very small playing field. Then I would just run right off the edge and die. The computer would win, but I would have gained a battle towards my count in a very speedy way. It sure worked, and I recommend it to any gamers who are of working age and lack the endless hours of time necessary to unlock characters in a more scrupulous manner.
The house contract has been signed and the building is to commence before the month is over. The tentative completion date is September 25th, my dad's birthday. I sure can't wait.
I'm making my pilgrimage to ye oldde trailer tonight. Then I'll take Jack up the mountain and watch movies on the big screen TV.
