I feel better this afternoon. I am liking my drugs. I am glad it is the weekend. I am wearing a comfy t-shirt. And I am about to go see a house in Tonawanda (this is the only non-Cheektowaga house we have bothered going to). Tomorrow we see four more houses ( Read more... )

July 31st to move so closing on June 31st would be ideal. Thanks to all of NY state law and requirements of having a lawyer involved it can take between 30 and 60 (extreme outside) days to close on a home once the bid has been accepted.

Fun.

Bum deal. I thought closing day typically equalled moving day. And NY state is obviously wacked out! :D

Ah well, good luck with it all anyway.

It can still equal moving day. In fact if you don't have a special deal to occupy before closing in place (and a second kind of insurance) then you can not move in until after the closing date.

I blame the crowded place at the southern tip of the state for all this BS related to real estate. They can't just have municipal regs no they had to get Albany to make the entire state suffer.

As much as I like Democrats on social issues, my opinion is that the Democratic lock on the state has created the high level of regulation on practically everything. I think while it's well-intentioned, the Democrats seem to have a tendency to want to regulate everything to keep people safe. Of course, now I'm thinking about the (apparently true) story where parents visiting somewhere went and bought a batch of bubble wrap to put on furniture to keep their kid safe!
