"It's 3 o'clock and we ask ourselves, Where are we now?"
My weekend was great and I had loads of fun but it is great to be back. This will be a long post, so yeah, just a warning.
Rest of Friday - Sat around playing Picross until im_a_pirate_arr got here, which took FOREVER, but she finally arrived and we left for Orlando. The trip was pretty fun actually, we took 50 all the way up and took a while, but it was fun chatting with Tammy since we're both such geeks. We got to FX and it was kind of confusing at first since we had no clue where to go. We met up with her friend gutterjim, who had a booth there for Yikes! Toys and Comics!, and walked around with him for a bit. The first night wasn't too eventful, just kinda walked around a bit looking at all the nice toys. It was funny actually, there was like 10 porn stars at the con, all at their booths, with their nudie pics all over and their tits popping out of their shirts, and what do I do? I say "wow, I want one of those so bad", and run right to the booth of Batman toys and look at this awesome Batman/Joker statue. Apparently that makes me "not a real man". Oh well. More walking around, I found like 4,815,162,342 toys I wanted, so I went to go get some cash from the ATM, but apparently I didn't know my PIN. Oh well. Come 10PM the con was over for the day and so we left.
It was still early though, so Tammy, Jim, Dave (Jim's boss/friend), Pugsley (another friend of theirs), and I all went to I-Bar and got some drinks. We got hella lost on the way there, but eventually found our way. Not much happened there, just a few drinks, they all danced a bit, then it was last call and time to leave. Jim and Dave were pretty drunk and we're yelling in the back seat a lot and Tammy pulled out in someone and we almost got hit. It was fun. Then we got lost again going back to their hotel. That was loads of fun, we were all singing along to Tammy's old school rap CD and they were moshing in the back. We eventually found our way to their hotel, only to have to drive Pugsley to his hotel since Jim and Dave were too drunk to drive, so off we went again, dropped him off, then dropped Jim and Dave off, then finally headed home around 4AM. We didn't get home until almost 5:30 and I didn't end up falling asleep until 6;30 or so.
Saturday - Woke up at 9, which sucked, I got no sleep, but oh well. Tammy was supposed to pick me up around 10:30 but she didn't get here until 11:45 or so. So I got up early for nothing. Oh well. We decided to not take 50 this time since "it would take too long with all the lights", but we ended up getting way lost again and it took us an extra hour almost to get there. But we finally arrived and I met up with _graveflower_ and garfunkill. This day was more fun, I actually remembered my PIN, so I got some money out and bought some toys. I got a 1:18 scale DeLorean model, The Riddler (based on Jim Lee's art from the Batman: Hush series), and Ichabod Crane from Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow. I was looking all over for a Victor from Corpse Bride, but there were none to be found, as well as a Captain Jack Sparrow, but they were all $40+ for some reason. Oh well. Then we walked around some more, got some pics with the über geeks that dressed up, and then waited in line to meet Robert Englund (Freddy Kreuger from the Nightmare on Elm Street series), he was super nice and was really cool to talk to. After that we left and headed over to natesmamas, who I haven't seen in forever and a day, hung out there a bit, met her kid Nate, then got some Taco Bell and finally over to Gary's. We listened to some music and played Star Wars Trivial Pursuit, and I FUCKING WON. Leah, is a major Star Wars geek, and I go to her for any question I have on the series, AND I BEAT HER! I'm such a geek. Gary went to bed and Leah and I stayed up watching movies and talking about how George Lucas is a hack. Finally around 4AM I went to bed.
Sunday - Woke up balls early again, it sucked. Gary and I went out to get some Dunkin Donuts. We first stopped at McDonalds for Leah and had to wait in line for almost an hour, which was ridiculous, but on top of that there was these four 13 year-old girls that thought they were so cool to be out with out their parents. They were all running around and yelling and giggling and being retarded, god I wanted to punch them. Then off to Dunkin Donuts and that took forever too. We picked up leah, ate, then headed to some guitar expo, which was LOADS of fun. Yes, that was sarcasm. It was just a bunch of guitars in a big room. Fun times. Gary enjoyed it though. He bought some stuff, then we left and went to FX again. There wasn't much left to do so we just got in line to meet David Carradine (Bill from Kill Bill). He was rather disappointing, he really didn't seem to enthused to be there and when we took pics with him he didn't get up or let us go behind the table, so the pics look retarded. That was about it. We walked around a bit more, looking for last minute purchases, then Gary and Leah Left and I went and found Tammy and spent the rest of the day with her and _creampuff_. We walked around a bit and I finally went and talked to Jerry Robinson, who co-created The Joker and Robin. He let me down. I asked him how he came up with the Joker and he said "Batman needed a villain", I said "yeah, but why Joker, how'd you get the idea for The Joker" and he's "Batman needed a villain". Guh, ok. Also every pic he drew was exactly the same, I don't think he really has any skill, I think it was more of a "hey, how about a villain that is a clown of sorts?' and that was that. How Disappointing.
That was pretty much the end of the con, the rest of the time we just sat around waiting for Jim and Dave to pack up their booth so we could all go get dinner. We finally leave and go to find some place to eat and Jim and Dave got stuck at the con and were going to meet us, but we could never get a hold of them, so we said fuck it and went out on our own to T.G.I.Fridays. I had a few beers since I didn't have to drive and since I haven't drank in a while I got nice and buzzed rather quick. After dinner we met up with Tammy's friend Liz at this crazy coffee bar with hookahs and exotic beers. I got some tasty beers, one of which was blueberry flavored. Goddamn it was good. we chilled there a bit then headed home, I was super tired from getting up early all weekend and pretty much went right to bed.
Monday - Sat around, watched some movies, found a cheap Victor/Corpse Bride figure set on ebay and won that (now I just need Jack Sparrow and I'll have all the Depp figures), and answered some questions about shipping some people had about my Simpsons collection, I don't think he's going to buy it because shipping is like $130. Mother Fucker. I then picked up wretchedbabydol and met up with caducusa, p0sta1, and sadisticsoldier at JD's. Not much happened there, Nicki can't drive so I got to be DD again and drink lots of water, which was fine, I didn't want to drink since I had the night before and I had no money at all. We left rather early since Jess had to work, so I went back to Nicki's, we watched some TV and whatnot, then I went home and passed out again as I was still tired and I am getting used to waking up earlier, which is good.
Today - Woke up to my Brother calling me about that job, he told me to call this guy about setting up an interview. So I did, but he didn't answer, I waited an hour or 2 for him to call back, but he never did, so I left and went to Best Buy to get Corpse Bride. I drove home and was super excited to watch it, only to find out some shit happened to my.... something, because my shit wasn't working. My modulator was switching over and my consoles were turning on, and my DVR worked, but the picture wasn't showing up, so I wasn't sure what it was, so I decided to just clean my room up and upload my pics from the weekend and do an update. I got sick of TV though and tried bypassing my DVR and now everything works, well except the DVR. So I don't know what's up with that, because yesterday it worked just fine, but now it doesn't, so I get to fix that now. Fun times. Yeah, that's about it now. Oh yeah, I also found out the FX pez dispensers I got for FREE for pre-ordering tickets are going for $10+ on ebay, and I have 2 of them, so that's awesome.
