Need to waste some time, so I figured I'd update.
Monday - First off, woke up, still fucking sick, not as bad as before, but my throat still kinda hurts, not a soar throat like scratchy sharp pain, but sore like I got punched in the throat. Kind of sucks. The dreaded Hurricane Wilma was supposed to hit today, luckily for me it went way south of us, but unfortunately for
sassy_mollassey it pretty much went right through her town. I lost power at some point while I was asleep, I think for maybe 2 minutes. Jennie still doesn't have power. That sucks, I feel bad for her, but I can't really do anything about it. As stated though, nothing really happened here and by 6 pm the sun was shining brightly, so
caducusa,
sadisticsoldier,
p0sta1, Dan, and I went to go out. JD's was closed because they are pussies and always close at the slightest hint of a hurricane, so we got stuck going to Poolies, which I really don't much care for, it tends to be full of wannabe scenesters and rednecks, not that JD's is much better crowd-wise, they're usually full of thugs, rednecks, bikers, and frat boys, but they have better prices and the bartenders are much nicer. Anyway, hung out there all night, then home, then sleep.
Tuesday - Woke up, sat around a bit, then headed down to EB to get Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories for the PSP, then pretty much played that all day. It's a great game, which is no surprise, GTA always kicks ass.
Wednesday - My Sister has been bugging my Dad about getting a DVR, and after looking into them he finally decided to get one, and apparently there was some deal if you get 2 so I got one as well. It's pretty sweet because now I finally have digital cable in my room, which means I get movie channels and all those cool channels like noggin and fuse, and the best thing I have ever seen, G4, which is a channel for video games and technology, aside from I Love the 80's I don't think I've turned off G4 since I got it. I know it's an old ass station, but it's totally new to me, so I'm excited. So yeah, G4 and GTA: LCS all day.
Thursday - Mostly just sat around and posted on some message boards. Also went down to Wal*Mart to finish up my halloween costume. I had to get pants and sunglasses, so got that and my costume is all set, I just can't find any belt holsters for my guns. Oh well. Sat around, watched some G4, played some GTA: LCS, then Duncan and I went to some bar in Cocoa. It was a nice tiny quiet bar, it was fun, Duncan and I played some pool and I somehow did amazingly good, like really REALLY good, I'm talking hitting the cue ball into another ball, bouncing that ball into another one and the cue ball off the side, then the 2nd ball hits into the cue ball and the ball goes in a pocket. Another time I got 3 balls in in one shot. I think I won like the first 6 or 7 games. Duncan and I were both amazed by my luck. But my luck wore off and Duncan started kicking my ass. More pool, more drinks, then home.
When I got home I watched I Love the 80's, then Violence in Video Games on G4, which totally pissed me off. It was the same argument that's been going on forever "violent games create violent people, blah blah blah". It's just so ridiculous, how can someone say video games cause violence, or any media for that matter. I grew up on violent movies and cartoons and video games and listening to heavier music and I'm one of the least violent people ever. They of course showed footage from Columbine and other school shootings and one dude, whose sister was killed, was all "these kids that shot up the place, they played Doom, that trained them to kill people, it made them violent". GUH. Give me a fucking break. It TRAINED them to kill people? I like how they think if it weren't for video games people would be clueless how to kill people. You shoot someone in the head, they die, you don't need to play a video game to know that. One guy made a great point "ok, if video games make people violent, then why aren't there multiple school shootings everyday? Why aren't kids killing cops everyday? Millions of people play video games everyday, but these violent crimes aren't happening everyday, it's up to the parents to make sure their kids know the difference between fantasy and real life". I completely agree, as stated, I've grown up on plenty violent shit, but you don't see me going out killing people, because my parents raised me to know what's real and what's fake. Parents need to be more involved. So what if the columbine kids played Doom, plenty people do, but where were these kids parents when they were putting together their arsenal and planning all this shit out, I'm sure there were plenty warning signs. Fact of the matter is, any normal kid that plays a video game isn't going to go shoot up their school and go and kill a cop, there's other issues at hand there.
I really don't think it has anything to do with games or movies, or maybe it is, because there was no violence before movies and video games right? Hitler, he played GTA all the time, right? and Al Queda, they all played Mortal Kombat together, right? And what were those violent movies John Wilkes Booth watched? And that dude that shot all those people from the bell tower, he was all about Doom and Wolfenstein, and what was that game series Jack the Ripper played? Point is cops and innocent people were killed, drugs were used, women were raped and murdered, and gangs were formed long before GTA or any of those other games were ever released. There was plenty of violence around before violent movies, violent video games, and violent music. To say that media causes this behavior is just absurd. I actually think violent games and such take away from violence in the real world, I know so many people that use video games to take out their frustrations, personally I'd rather see someone kill hundreds of cops or soldiers or prostitutes or whatever in a video game instead of having them take it out on their girl friend or child or pet. In my opinion, the people that take it out on school mates and other humans have more issues than just playing too many video games. < /rant >
After that I of course just had to play some GTA: LCS for a bit, then went to bed.
Today - Woke up, my throat is still bugging me, if it's not feeling better by Monday I'm going to the doctor again. So, yeah, sat around, watched Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker that I DVR'd last night, then did this update. I need to go to Wal*Mart and return my pants since apparently I'm not as fat s I thought I was (WOO HOO!!). After that is more GTA: LCS and waiting for Jennie to get here. Fun times. Out for now.
