I often wonder why they teach that the human body is "worldly".
It really bothers me.
I don't like the way we were taught sex either.
Catholics ignore the issue for the most part...at least my church did.
Sex shouldn't be something you are ashamed to discuss.
"Don't have sex."
Kids don't listen to that anymore.
I think sex should be taught...all the physical and emotional aspects of it.
I don't think a lot of people realize the emotions that come with having sex...which is exactly why I'm not doing it until I'm married.
I'm 100% for sex education.
Abstinence education has failed miserably.
The human body is God's best artwork.
I mean, it really amazes me.
We're just all so beautiful.
I cannot stand to see people take something so beautiful and manage to make it shameful and "sinful".
Sexual urges are not sinful or worldly...as long as they have good intention of course.
I truly believe all aspects of life that have no potential to harm are straight from our Lord.
The whole notion of being so crazy in love with someone and wanting to express that is wonderful.
I have so many problems with this notion of "sin".
Because with that comes guidelines...
And some of these guidelines are fine..such as no killing, etc.
But some are ridiculous.
Catholics don't believe in birth control..that's nuts.
Sex isn't for just reproducing.
I just wish people wouldn't focus so much on the evil in this world and "sin".
They scare the hell out of you...literally...saying "you're going down a toilet bowl" or "you'll burn".
We're all so obsessed with the negatives...and it's true.
Everyone thinks that crime has gotten worse, yet crime rates have gone done dramatically from the 80s-90s.
We just want to hear about it in our newscasts, so they gives us what we want.
We only want to know about threats...
I wish and hope Christianity steers away from this obsession with evil and focuses more on love.
Because you know, Lennon had it right. All you need IS love.
And there def. are churches out there like this...we need more of those.
I believe their reasoning is that your body is temporary and your soul is eternal.
True.
But, why would you not take care of something created by God?
If there's one thing that angers me...it's seeing a very obese person eating fried food.
I cannot even fathom doing that to myself.
You cannot tell me that anyone is happy being really big...I simply do not believe that.
One of the reasons I love working out so much is because I love learning how my muscles react to certain movements.
I love being sore the next day.
I love sweating when I'm doing a good workout.
I love feeling strong.
I love that feeling when I am doing all-out wind sprints.
I love that I'm a female with a shape.
I love being comfortable in my skin.
I just love challenging and pushing my body to new physical depths.
And I cannot see how other people don't or wouldn't love all of that.
It's not shallow to want to have a nice-looking body.
It's passionate.
I truly appreciate the human body and recognize God's expression of love.
This body I was granted for my time here on Earth is the only body I'll get to have.
And I'm going to make sure I portray His art in the best way I know how.
