Hm. Wow.
I'm still alive.
I plan on deleting this one day and getting a real blog.
A political blog. But I am far too lazy right now...it's been a hell of a day.
Politics has really opened a door for me.
I am interested in politics.
I owe most of that to two things: a) I am media literate...we are few in numbers and b) my media and the political process class
This class has scared the hell out of me.
It basically scared me all the way into the world of politics.
We are all so ignorant and uneducated about our leaders and policies.
I want to become informed.
But, on the bright side, I am almost positive that I have found my political identity.
I am socially a leaning liberal...basically I could careless except I have a hufe m'fing problem with gun control.
DUMBEST IDEA EVER (except everything Al Gore says)! Wtf. Look at the Prohibition you hardcore gun-controlling histoire-tards.
I am economically conservative. I think I said that correctly. Let the market run you crazed hardcore economic liberals.
So I guess I'm effed.
I guess I can call myself a moderate Republican.
All these neoconservatives get on my last nerve.
Pres. Bush is one of the dumbest people to ever run the White House.
But his cabinet did suuuuuch a great job at controlling the news in his first term.
Half the country still thinks that weapons of mass destruction were found and that Saddam had something to do with 9/11, when that was clearly debunked in an intelligence report--the Schlesinger Report.
But of course nobody knows that...except mass comm. majors haha...and poli sci majors possibly.
I get so fired up when talking about Bush...I wish I could slap the hell out of him.
Him and his cabinet have done so many scandalous things that it's not even funny...
I know corrupt things happen in a lot of administrations, but his had the most dire consequences....a freakin' war with Iraq.
For the first time in my life, I feel confident in my decision of majoring in mass comm.
I wish I would have majored in political communication though...that would have been way funner.
I have learned so much in college...I really have.
This class that I'm taking now should be required of all college students.
Well, that or every college student should take MC 2000.
Not many college students understand the implications of media theory.
We pretty much shape our realities according to what they say.
They might not tell us exactly what to think...but they certainly set an agenda of importance for us.
If it's on the news, we assume it's important...if it's not...we assume it isn't.
I try my hardest to consume a lot of news...a lot of diff. news. Not just from CNN.
I really enjoy NPR. Some people claim it's way left, but I'm conservative and don't notice too much.
I like the BBC too.
Fox News is utterly terrible. It saddens me that most Americans get their news from Fox.
First of all, Fox flat out claims its conservative slant...
I just did research on media coverage of the last pres. debate, and Fox was the WORSSST.
All of the sources used by the reporters were from conservative organizations or conservative media except one...
I don't care what someone's ideology is, you need to consume a wide array of news.
I really love this song "Gravity" by John Mayer.
I saw it on an episode of Eli Stone, which i am totally in love with!!
I had heard the song before, but it showed a scene of him and Katie Holmes dancing...awwwi :]
Such a good dancing song.
I really hope I get this FBI internship.
If not, I'm going to find another Washington D.C. internship.
I want to go there...bad...
My dream would be to attend Georgetown University [and get my master's in policy or the american government I bet I would be the ONLY Republican!]...
Who knows what'll happen with me.
All I know is that my country totally made me proud to be an American when I saw just how many people cast their votes...even if my cute old man didn't win...
