To say that her shop had the regular occasional trickle of visitors would be stating the obvious.
Today, however, was different.
Cue the arrival of
a woman in a black business suit, tall, imposing. Short black hair, and a cold attitude and demeanor.
This, needless to say, caused Altalita to raise an eyebrow, and shift her position on the lounge. While Nexus visitors were unusual, something about this one just made her feel uneasy. "Hello, dear. I'm going to assume you're here for a reason, like most."
"Indeed." Her voice had a slight British-English tinge to it, "I do."
"I'm going to need your name, sweet." Altalita twirled the cigarette in one hand, causing the yellowish smoke to billow about once more. She watched the other woman carefully.
"Hecate Daemon." Was the other woman's response. She, too, had a slight unease with being here. "If you are what you've said you are, you should be more than capable of giving me what I desire."
Altalita took a puff of the cigarette pipe and blew a little smoke into the air, "Straight to the point, I see." That annoyed her, a little, but the sooner this was over with, the better. "All things considered about who you are, sweet, I have to admit. I'm curious."
Hecate narrowed her eyes for a moment, this was one avenue she was hesitant to take, but she needed to know if it was a possible one. Between her nexus surveillance, among other things, a lot could be found out, here. "I wish to become Immortal. Ageless."
This wish was one she's heard before. Hundreds of times, possibly even thousands. A momentary distant look at fate's threads, and she responded: "I'm afraid you can't afford my price for that, Ms. Daemon."
Hecate shifted her weight. "What is it?"
Another dismissive twirl of that damned cigarette-pipe, "I'm afraid it's one of those 'if you have to ask, you can't afford it' things." A few beats to let this sink in, "Which means, I am not Fated to give you the immortality you seek."
"Nn." Hecate made a sound at that. Annoyed with the woman's dismissive attitude. "Fine." And she turned and stalked out of the shop.
When the door closes, Altalita sighs, "Not sure why anyone would want to live forever anyway." Another long puff of the cigarette, "Gets dreadfully boring, after a while." She does, however, make a note to keep an eye on this 'Hecate'. Very, very interesting.
