I don't know too many specifics about that Rx issue. Why do they want it to stop?

Is it because the lower prices are funded by the taxes Canadians pay?

Obviously, drugs are overpriced PERIOD. And maybe what they're doing just isn't in the best interest of people.

It just occurs to me that perhaps that's the argument they're making?

Like I said, though, I don't know a lot about this issue, so I'm just speculating! The U.S. needs to start taking action to so that U.S. citizens can afford to care for you their health. But we both already know that.

This isn't entirely true. It is more an issue of drug supply. Currently Americans can buy drugs from Canada via online pharmacies. Since the prices are cheaper and it is readily accessible (questionable in terms of prescribing policies) there is a huge boom in this market. Essentially it is filtering and diverting the Canadian drug supply south of the border. The concern is that the drugs will be bought up by Americans, leaving Canadians who need these drugs without access to the drugs (i.e. there will be none left ( ... )

Thanks for further clarification!

So far, the U.S. has taken very few (if any) steps toward making health services affordable for its citizens.

america has literally *no* price controls on meds, so they are more expensive here than any other industrial/post-industrial country.

also the u.s. & new zealand are the only ind./post-ind. countries to allow direct marketing of meds to consumers which is funded by the ridiculous drug prices here. whee!
