Top 10 Best Films of 2004

I'm not going to wait until the Golden Globes and Oscars determine the best movies of the year, because I think the people that deserve to win them either lose or get snubbed. Skrew that. Here's my top 10 list of the best movies of 2004 (in no particular order).

1. Finding Neverland- This was a big tearjerker for me, and it takes a really good, emotionally strung movie to make me cry. This was one of those movies. Also, I am a HUGE Johnny Depp fan. In my mind, he can bascially do no wrong (well, except for maybe "Secret Window", which I didnt like too much. And "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," coming out in May, will be a remake that will be tough to beat because I loved Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Anyway, This was a sentimental, creative movie that I thoroughly enjoyed. The way the story of Peter Pan was pieced together was beautiful. I'll be pissed if he gets snubbed from getting the Golden Globe or Oscar AGAIN.
2. Napoleon Dynamite- hilarious. nerdy. odd. throughly entertaining. Sweet!
3. Spiderman 2- Better than the first. The best superhero movie I have ever seen. Tobey Maguire was great, and Kirsten Dunst was.....better. And Doc-Ock was cool.
4. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind- Jim Carrey was really, really good. The cinematography blew me away. I always thought it would be kinda cool to get bad stuff erased from memory, but this movie clearly shows this to be a bad idea. It's tough to desribe, and it got mixed reviews. You either love it or hate it. Obviously you know which of those applies to me.
5. Mean Girls- Omg. I loved this movie. Lindsay Lohan was good in this one. Full of laughs, and lots of cameos by SNL characters. Teens will love this (boys and girls) and so will adults.
6. Shrek 2- Another great sequel. Full of laughs. I love Donkey- Eddie Murphy was perfect for the role. Better than the first.
7.Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban- Definitely the best Harry Potter film to date. I had to include this since I am a huge HP nerd. "Azkaban" is darker, more action-packed and magical than ever before. Adolescence and puberty and change are big themes. And I'm telling you , Potter is getting hotter! lol
8. The Spongebob Squarepants Movie- I put this movie on the list only because I can, fool!!
9. Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events- Another Carrey movie, although I thought he was better in "Spotless Mind". Still, it was entertaining enough for me to put it on here. It's about 3 gifted children who lose their parents in a mysterious fire and must live with the horrible, sneaky Count Olaf.
10. Um......Gee, I havent seen that many movies. All the Golden Globe nominated and critically-acclaimed movies are missing- Million Dollar Baby, Closer, Kinsey, The Aviator,Ray,Phantom of the Opera (that I heard got mixed reviews anyway) and Hotel Rwanda. I'm sorry, people. I'll try to see those in the near future. For now I'll put the Incredibles in the #10 spot.

Feel free to deliberate or argue with me if you disagree with my choices, based on what I saw.
