so i got into University of Hilo...surprise surprise. i'm so tempted to just send in my intent to enroll card and not even wait for any other colleges. i'm sure i'm going to get in to all but one of my other colleges that i applied to, but i feel like i'd rather go to hilo than anything else. however, this could be because i know for sure that i'm in and it just makes me feel secure. but i'm not sure why it would be like that if i know that i'm going to get into so many other schools. and i also don't think that financial aid is going to be a big deal, because the UH is extremely cheap, and I'm going to get a special rate on the tuition WUE (Western Undergraduate Exchange...basically if you live on the west coast you don't have to pay as much for out of state tuition), and housing is really cheap too. i think it's a little under $2000 per semester for a suite. All together, with tuition, room and board, etc, i think it's about $15000 before financial aid. at any other school i've applied to, i'd probably be paying that much AFTER fiancial aid. given, it costs more to travel home/to live in hawaii, but i wouldn't be coming home much and i'd be getting most of what i need on campus.
i've already filled out my intent to enroll card, and the priority housing form, etc. brad (college counselor) told me not to send it in until i find out about financial aid from hilo and other schools to send it in, incase i get a full ride somewhere else, but i really just want to go to hawaii. i've wanted to do this for years and i'm never going to unless i actually do something significant that will actually make it happen.l..that something significant in this case could be my intent to enroll card.
more to come later. its lunch time
