Thanksgiving #2 Wrap Up
So, as most of you know, the Kaneys have two Thanksgivings. My mother and I spent the entire day cooking in front of the Sopranos and it was a lot of fun. Then comes the meal, where everything tasted like SHIT. First, my dad ruined the gravy my mom spent about 2 hours simmering on the stove by turning the stove off because "the gravy looked too hot" !!!. He also turned off the oven when I had a pie in there, but he didn't ruin that one. The stuffing was really really bad, equal to how bad it was last night but ours was too soggy and hers was too dry. The turkey was pink, but tasted ok. We had gravy and cranberry sauce from a can. The potatoes (my mother's famous potatoes which are always perfect) weren't cooked for long enough so they were runny. My green beans were good. My soup was just like baby food. The rolls were pretty good. Anyway, my mom was kinduv pissy but then found everything hilarious because I was playing with the weird stuffing. My dad was pissy because we both yelled at him for even being in the kitchen where he just turns everything off while trying to be helpful, but then he dropped his knife and that was really funny (as dropping something always is). So... the food was bad but it was a good night all in all. My pie is done!
My father and I are looking for snowboards tomorrow in Berkeley and he wants to go to Smokehouse. Please god... I hope no one sees us... and that shuold be really interesting. I'll update on that later.
