Alec slammed the palm of his hand into the side of machine, before glancing back at Lauren with a look that indicated he was clearly not amused. “Cute. I wasn’t trained for office work. I was trained in assassinations.”
Lauren still continued to look amused, gently nudging him out of the way in order to get to the machine and make the copies for him. “It’s really not all that complicated. I can take over for you, if you want.”
“No,” he sighed, moving his arm in front of her. “I think I’ve almost got it.” He was stubborn, and he was frustrated that something so inherently simple just wouldn’t work the way he wanted it to. He pushed a few more buttons, then hit start, drumming his fingers against the side of the machine while he waited. “Alec.”
He glanced back at her, before throwing up his hands and letting her move in front of him. “Go ahead. Knock yourself out.”
She smirked as she moved in front of him, pushing a few buttons, before picture perfect copies spit out the other side. He looked them over before moving next to her again, peering over her shoulder with interest.
“Okay, how’d you do that?”
Lauren laughed, before nudging his arm and pulling him away from the machine. “Let’s just say I’ll handle office duties from now on, and leave it at that.”
