“Hey, Angell,” Flack said as he slid up next to her. The younger detective gave him a look before responding.

“Hey, Flack,” she sighed, continuing to walked, “Something come up?”

“Nah, not really,” he said, “I’m just seeing how you’re doing.”

“Well, I’m good,” she smirked. She knew that he was only being this nice to her because of what she had witnessed in the locker room earlier, but even if that wasn’t the case, she was going to enjoy it while it lasted.

“Good,” he nodded, “That’s good to hear.”

“This wouldn’t happen to be about what happened earlier, would it Flack?” she asked, an amused look on her face.

“What? No,” he said, giving her a look, “Why would you think that?”

“Oh, I don’t know,” she shrugged, “It’s just usually when I ask you how you’re doin, all you do is grunt like a caveman. Here I’m getting actual words.”

“Contrary to popular belief, I am capable of being nice,” Flack replied, “Just performing a common courtesy.”

“Sure you are,” Angell replied, “So how are you, Flack?”

“Me? I’m great,” he nodded, “Never better.”

“I can imagine,” she nodded, “Given what I saw you’re doing pretty damn well for yourself.”

Flack faltered for a minute, and knew that if he didn’t do something soon, he had a sinking feeling that the entire NYPD was going to find out by this time tomorrow. Angell had never really been known for gossip, but she knew who the leaks were, and he wouldn’t put it past her to spread this around if he pissed her off enough.

“Look, can I buy you a cup of coffee?” he asked, and she smirked.

“Oh, you really don’t want me to spread this around, do you?” she said giving him a look.

“Spread what around?” Flack said, glancing around to make sure no one had heard that, “There’s nothing to spread around.”

“Really?” Angell said, a devious smile crossing her face, “Everyone else knows that you were making out in the locker room with St-”

“OK, OK, OK,” he said, huffing slightly, “Look, we just want a little privacy, alright? I would appreciate it if you didn’t go spreading it around to everyone what you saw and keep it to yourself.”

“Two conditions,” she said.

“Alright, what?” he asked, giving her a look.

“One, when you are finally ready to tell people? I get to have the first go in leaking it.”

“Fine.”

“Two, you buy me a latte, every day-until I say otherwise.”

Flack grumbled slightly but nodded, “Fine. We have a deal?”

“Yup,” she nodded, starting to walk away, “See? It pays to be nice to the greens.”

Flack rolled his eyes as he started to walk away, and he turned when he heard her voice again.

“Oh, and I expect my latte first thing tomorrow morning.”

“I’ll call you to find out how you like it.”

“Good.” There was another pause, and she turned to face him again, “Oh, and for future reference? When you’re looking for privacy, the NYPD locker room is not the best place to go.”

“Thanks, Angell,” he nodded, “I’ll keep that in mind.”

“Good.”
