Today, Ashley, Amanda P, and I went to Funcraft. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Funcraft, it's basically a place you go when you're about 5 to have or celebrate birthday parties. The activities usually consist of painting a ceramic figure, going into the back room to dance around like a maniac while listening to music, and eating pizza/cake with your parents glancing at their watches every 10 minutes to figure out when the torture will end.
Well...we relived the first part of those glorious days today; we marched into Funcraft and demanded our ceramic items. The kids working there did not seem amused by us. Ashley was a little late, so Amanda and I had to go in alone, feeling a little silly because of the five-year-olds running around in the next room. When we were seated, we were told to wear smocks because the paint would stain our clothes and never come out (this warning was reinforced by the signs all over the store). We weren't sure if the smocks in the corner of the room, crumpled up one on top of the other, were the smocks we were to use, so I kindly asked the manager, "Where are the smocks?" To this query I received a somewhat rude response: "Yeah, they're right there." Ohhhhh well excuuuse me for not knowing that the wrinkled, dirty-looking smocks were to be used by the new customers. Pardon me for not knowing that THOSE were the "clean" smocks, you McNasty monster. This encounter left me a little hesitant to ask for paint, and she actually made me feel bad about asking for an assortment of colors. I was quite insulted. I freaking picked my item, a butterfly, from the orange shelf, Miss High-and-Mighty; that's the most expensive one (a whopping 12.99, thank you very much).
But anyway...my end result was wonderous. It was the most beautiful piece of art I have ever created, considering that I'm ridiculously non-artistic. I even learned from my past Funcrafting mistakes and made sure to get the paint all around the edges of my butterfly. Ashley's and Amanda's moon and shoes came out splendiferous as well. I'm too tired to elaborate, so...bye =D.
