graduation: one year after
went to the ica grad last sat with symon and salva, and we were late as usual! when we went in delia tetrault, it was already in the middle of the 5th class! and i even missed deb's turn to go up. owell but was still able to give sampaguitas to her and to ida, jamie and rai also :D
after the whole batch sang their grad song and went down the stage, the reactions of the grads this year were different from last year's. some were actually crying as if they were never gonna see each other again while some were just happy to be out of ica! which brings me some of my memories of our grad and also brings me the thought of how fast time flies. another school year finished, and hello 2nd year. maiinhabit na naman ng xaverians and icans ang ateneo pag dating ng june!
like what elsa said, first year in ateneo went by like a breeze. it was a year filled with cramming and procrastinating, movie marathonings, baraja sessions during breaks, eating/hanging out in establishments along katipunan, gimmicking and partying, driving and cruising around the metro with friends(since now that i have a nonpro) and wasting time in front of the computer pag walang hw or exam.
i spent most of my breaks and free time with mac, debs and ria during the 1st semester. since i was a "newbie" in S1, i didn't know my blockmates that well (except for queen, andoy and terence) thanks so much to the orsem committee for that wonderful mismatching of me and aj cua! basta either sina mac, debs and ria lang kasama ko or english blockmates ko kasi medyo nahihiya pa ako sa S1 and hindi naman ako masiyado sumasama sa mga xaverians sa ateneo since kunti lang naman ka-close ko sa kanila. nakita ko rin na totoo nga sinasabi ng mga kapatid ko sa akin; karamihan ng mga xaverians and ICAns magkakasama pa rin kahit sa college.
to be honest, medyo nalolonely ako nung 1st part ng 1st semester. siguro nga adjustment period yun from high school to college. hindi na parang one text or call away, and your kabarkada can go to you easily kung nasaan ka man or after school you can meet your best friend at ashcreek or gate 2. my close xaverian frends either go with their blocks always or are studying in other schools. symon and i have different skeds and parang ang bonded na ng block niya nung 1st sem pa lang unlike my block during that time. tapos ung 2 kabarkada pa namin may sarili ng mundo sa schools nila. ryan seems to be uberrr busy with his ua&p life mixing his academics with his party life na pag yinaya namin siya on weekends, usually hindi na siya sumama. m`ang, on the other hand, seems to be preoccupied with his kat and his hectic life as an archi student. ganun naman eh. ho's before bro's! (haha joke lang m`ang if you're reading this :D) i didn't know that being an archi student is so difficult! naiwan na lang kami 3 na lang nina symon and muy na laging lumalabas. owell fun pa rin kahit 3 lang kami! dba muy??? hahaha :D
as days passed by, i was able to meet and get to know more from my S1 blockmates kahit na ndi naman kami super close or bonded as a block. cguro ung time na nagkaroon na ng bond yung S1 is after ng tagaytay trip namin.
the tagaytay trip, as i repeat, has got to be one of the most memorable out-of-town trips that i've had. nung una akala ko parang S1 inuman session lang yung trip, but it was more than i expected. to those who went: thanks so much for the great time! sana maulit `to!:D
second semester came, and mas patapon ako kaysa nung 1st sem!! naging less active ako sa mga orgs, mas nagcracram na ako sa mga exams and hw's, but mas maraming gimmicks and parties yung 2nd sem. i also got closer to my blockmates who were also in tagaytay + my MA20 blockmates (actually, mga girls from S1 lang haha)
my freshie year was very routined. 7:30 classes on MWF's, which means sabog ako on these days. hang out lagi sa caf up. cello's doughnuts almost every week. movie after school pag half day. baraja pag walang magawa. mcdo drive-thru pag puno ang caf. had a bigger appetite because of the variety of different food that quad 2 offers every week. samahan ang blockmate kumuha ng ganito at ganyan sa lib/xavier hall. meeting new people, friend's friends and acquaintances. org parties and meetings (pero tinamad na nung end ng 2nd sem haha). but in the end, i was able to develop new friends na kahit papano, nawala na rin ang pagiging lonely ko at naramdaman ko na siguro nga talaga ngang para sa akin ang ateneo.
to those who contributed in my first year of studying in the ateneo, thank you. be it a positive or a negative contribution, thank you pa rin!:D all the things you've done for me are now part of my memories of my stay in the ateneo.shucks nasesenti ako ngayon! hahaha :)
