a dialogue concerning two definitions

starring: simplicio and socretes

simplicio: how do you define friendship, buddy socretes?

socretes: well simplicio, i'd say friendship is the mutual bond between two persons, though both feel that they can 'gain' from this friendship, it is often protected by the mutual loyalness and each's interest in 'sticking up' for the other

simplicio: strange socretes, i always thought a friend was someone who made you feel good, i didn't know you were supposed to do anything for them

socretes: you surely are wrong simplicio, you are supposed to make the other party feel good as well, otherwise, how can you expect them to stay in said 'friendship' and continue to make you feel good?

simplicio: wow socretes, you sure are smart.

socretes: yeah, i know, man, i'm like...socretes
