Most of my stress resulting from the month of October is over! All I've got going on now is school work, a little more apartment stuff, and then the wedding, which I am really starting to get psyched for.
We moved just about everything from the Concord apartment to Northfield this weekend, with the exception of cleaning products and the food in the refridgerator. I will probably go over there on Thursday to scrub the thing down and then we can be done with it. I feel like Mark, the landlord there, is really bitter toward Ricky for moving out, even after all of the work that Rick has done for him over the past year... so I feel sort of awkward about going back over. Oh well. The new apartment is coming along... all the rooms are painted except for a few touch-ups that will probably never actually get done at this point, and the bathroom, which I'm not too concerned about because it's not like we have to move furniture in order to paint it. The cabinet doors still need more paint and we are going to paint the hinges and handles because they are all chipped and old, and then those need to get hung back up. Right now the cabinets are just all open, with the dishes in them and everything. There are still boxes and stuff everywhere. Rick and his dad finished moving stuff in while I was at the bridal shower on Sunday, so by the time we started unpacking it was already like 6:30. Then all of Rick's friends stopped by in shifts so we weren't really able to get much accomplished. I don't really have much going on this weekend though, so hopefully we will get stuff unpacked. We also have a washer and dryer now! They are big and beautiful and relatively new and I cannot wait to use them... once Rick hooks them up. Which I hope is soon because I am accumulating mass amounts of laundry, and we moved two large hampers and a giant black trash bag stuffed with Rick's dirty clothes to the new apartment as well. So I have my work cut out for me. I just can't wait to get everything cleaned up and cozy though. I just wish I had expendable income so I could go out and buy a bunch of homey things... but I don't. We do need to get curtains though, and I would really like to get throw blankets or something for the couches to make them match a little better. (One couch is green that clashes terrifically with our green living room walls, and the other is like a medium blue color.) I was thinking slip covers or what have you, but I checked some out and those things are EXPENSIVE! So blankets will have to do. Maybe sheets. Heh.
I just took a midterm exam in Philosophy that I am glad to be done with. I have a quiz on Friday and then an exam next Friday but I don't think it should be too bad. I really need to get working on my many term papers though. But I don't really feel like writing about school anymore. I'd rather go look online at home furnishings that I can't afford. ;)
That's something to be proud of,
that's a life you can hang your hat on.
You don't need to make a million,
just be thankful to be working.
If you're doing what your able
and putting food there on the table
and providing for the family that you love,
that's something to be proud of.
