i pretended that i didn't notice
Oh so much has happened!
I am currently stealing wireless internet from some unsuspecting tenant of Ricky's apartment. I am staying with him in Concord for the summer and internet is one of the many things that we are way too poor to afford, along with cable (and by cable I mean ANY channels) and food in general. Kidding, kind of.
So for the last week I've been housewife-ing it up while Ricky is at work every day.. the first couple days were fine because I had a ton of unpacking to do and about five hundred loads of laundry to do (mostly Rick's) and getting the place cleaned up in general. But I'm pretty much bouncing off the walls at this point.. tres bored. BUT I was hired for an internship for the state this morning so I'll start working on June 1, woohoo!! I'm going to be doing coastal beach monitoring (or something)... a few days a week I'll be going out to Hampton, etc, and taking samples from the water with a biologist.. the other days I'll be in the lab analyzing the samples and whatnot. I'm really pumped a) just to have a job in general and b) to have a job that will be giving me actual experience for a career. The lady who hired me actually started out with doing a few of these internships and now she's head of Exotic Weeds or something, so that's encouraging. I will also feel a bit better about being around the house all day while Ricky is working two jobs, because at least I know I will be working soon! And I need money, badly. But I am so happy that she hired me even though I told her about Belize... I think they were pretty desperate to fill the position, whereas she hired me on the spot at my interview this morning, heh.
My car is registered and on the road and Rick took it to get it inspected this morning... I guess I needed like $20 worth of stuff to get it to pass, so that's excellent. Yaaay for finally having a legal car!
So anyway, life is pretty good at the moment. I might be going kayaking with my dad tomorrow depending on the weather, and we're having dinner with Kate and Mike tomorrow night. And now I have to go figure out how to make a pot roast (AKA call Mom) because I have nooo idea and we have one in the freezer and Rick will actually be home after work tonight instead of going right to work for Mark. Housewife, away!
