What a day! You know I have been grieving all week for the victims and their families of the bridge disaster. It was such an unthinkable event that will forever haunt the Twin Cities. I don't think that I will be able to drive over a bridge without thinking about it. To make matters worse, several bridges in Minnesota including a bridge I drive over everyday is said to be in worse condition than the 35W Bridge! Taking everything into consideration, I haven't been able to forgive the government for their lack of action until today. Thank you George Bush for wasting more American tax-payer dollars to travel to Minneapolis for 90 whole-minutes to survey the damage. Lord knows you couldn’t have just looked at some pictures or watched the hundreds of hours of news footage. Your kind, thoughtful, intelligent words have healed me and the cities! Now we can move on and forget everything. We can continue to divert money to more worthwhile causes like killing millions of Iraqis and terrorists! If our bridges can't be safe, at least we are safe from terrorists. I mean if another bridge goes down, that is only a hand-full of Americans versus the numerous casualties of a terrorist attack. Furthermore, now I can sleep at night knowing that we are fighting for the freedom of Iraqis. Screw the American public and their right to drive safely across bridges, dams, and federally funded roads. At least Iraqis can now walk freely down the street and be shot at by not only terrorists, but also American soldiers fighting for their freedom!
Now because of Bush’s words, I can forgive Republican Governor Pawlenty for continually vetoing gas tax bills that would have provided funding for bridge and road repairs. At least now he sees the error of his ways and is offering to pass the bill. That's so thoughtful of him! It ALMOST brings all those dead people back to life! It will also comfort me as I drive an already overloaded I-94 to class each week with the extra 100,000 people that would have used 35W instead. It will be so nice to spend an extra 30 minutes on the road with my fellow Minnesotians knowing that now there is money going to repair our roads and bridges. Gee, what a great Republican and American. He's always thinking about what this country truly needs!
Thank you Bush for sending some aid and promising to rebuild the bridge! Even though it won’t cover most of the costs and even though it wont speed up the process, at least it is more than what Katrina victims got!
