At 9:30 this morning Josh woke me up and told me she was having her kittens.
He was crying, so I ran down thinking the worst.
Apparently he thought the kitten was dead because it wasn't moving, and so he was all upset, but it wasn't!
Yay!
By the time I got down there the first one was moving around and trying to make it's way to food.
We then sat there and watched the second one being born.
Then the third.
A little while later she started contracting again, but only seemed able to get the kitten half way out.
I freaked and thought maybe it was stuck and she was going to get hurt, so I ran and called the vet, but they said that it just takes a while sometimes, and she was probably fine.
Sure enough, before I even got off the phone she had the kitten out.
At this point she started cleaning herself off and laying down, and we thought she was done.
She started to sleep a little, and let her kittens eat.
However, 45 minutes later she started contracting AGAIN!
And a minute later a fifth little kitten was here!
She cleaned him off, and then laid down to sleep.
So now she has 5 healthy adorable little kittens!!
She had them all right in our living room.
Apparently she started giving birth on Josh's chest!!
He said that all night last night she just wouldn't leave him alone, and wanted to be on him cuddling, and this morning she was purring and purring, and he felt her start to contract, and realized she was going into labor.
So he grabbed a towel and set her on the floor, and after one loud meow her kitten was out.
Then it was straight back to purring. She hasn't stopped purring since. :)
I'm just glad we were around, because he said he had to show her where the baby was.
She had a hard time getting down to them herself to clean them off and get them breathing.
But luckily we were there to kind of push her head down and show her where the baby was, and then she would start cleaning it right away.
It was so crazy and amazing and I'm so so proud of her.
She was so tired at the end, but she just wouldn't stop purring and licking her babies.
And of course...
So far we've named them One, Two, Three, Four, and Five, in the order that they came out.
Two and Four look exactly same, and so we can't tell them apart.
The orange kitties are all boys, and the calico's are girls.
First, here is a picture of One, just a little while after she was born.
Then this is a picture of Two being born.
Then this is One and Two trying to cuddle up into her.
This is Josh holding (in order from left to right) Two, One, and Three while Four was being born.
Three sleeping on Josh's hand.
Three sleeping on my hand. Her face is so cute!
Josh hold Three, Two(?), One, and Four(?) while Five was being born.
Nara cleaning off Five and his little bitty leg.
All the babies eating.
And again.
And finally, a picture of Five, pushing his little head up next to his Momma's head. <333
And again.
Ohhh they are so so cute!
I can't wait until they get a bit bigger and are playful.
This house is going to be full of so many babiieeeesss!!!
