The moon shines on the deserted sand. No living soul comes out at night these days. Not with the draculoids crawling around. But there is something moving, at the edge of , what looks like an, military center just outside the lights. Demonic Stardust is out for an mission, destroy the base.
“To the left, do you see them?”, the soft voice from Toxic Rhythm asks. “Yes, but how do you want to kill them? All our weapons are stolen or destroyed”, I reply. “What do you think of just fists, come on you also took the training.” “Yeah, but they do have rayguns and we don't.” “Are we going to chicken out or are you going to prove yourself? We got the damn mission from The Killjoys themselves.” “Alright let's do this.” We move from the shade in the light, the dracs are blinded because the lights come from behind our backs. We make the first move, in a few minutes the dracs are dead and we are armed with rayguns.
“See, it ain't that hard.”, Toxic Rhythm teases me. “You can say that you've got training for four years I only joined last year.” “Yes but you're good otherwise they wouldn't send you out on a mission like this.” The base comes closer, it looks like a prison. I would never want to be held there, that's why we are here. To save the captured Killjoys and to destroy the base. The doors are locked, but luckily I got something for that. I take my hairpin out and open the door. “That's why they also wanted you, you're good at breaking into houses.” That's because of my history, I used to break into draculoid bases to get resources. “Alright now hush and kill every drac you see.”, I began to freak out a bit. It's my first mission and a very important one too.
The base is very creepy from the inside. As we get further in the building everything looks the same, we don't have much problems only some dracs who get killed immediately. We are coming close to the cells. I can hear the screams from the ones who get tortured. I feel horrible hearing those people crying in agony. “I take the left you take the right.”, Toxic Rhythm hisses. The first cell I get to is empty, there are only clothes. I don't want to think about what happened to that person. The second cell contains a boy, 18 or so, who is hardly breathing. “Can you walk?” “Finally, help. Yes, I can walk if you just get those chains off.” I get the chains off the boy and give him a raygun. “Stay close, we're going to take the others too.” I take three more people out off there cells. “Toxic Rhythm? I got everybody out.” “Me too, let's place the bombs and get out of here.” We place the bombs at strategic places and leave. Outside it's beginning to freeze. “Thank god, the base is not far from here.” After three minutes of walking the bombs go off. The whole base explodes into nothing. “Everybody keep walking!”, I scream louder then the explosion. “We are almost there.” Finally I see the typical shape of an crescent shaped rock. “Here it is. Stay close and don't make a sound.” The group follows us, I type the code and the door opens. “Everybody get in here before the dracs come after us!” The group disappears into the darkness of the cave.
As soon as the last person gets in the doors close and the lights go on. The cave looks more like a room where someone hold a sleeping party. There are sleeping bags everywhere and a few cabinets and, how weird it might sound, a kitchen. “It looks more like a sleep over than a secret hide out for agents." A girl scoffed. I could hear by the sound of her voice we would not get along. "Oh, just shut it!" A boy complained. My eyebrows furrowed in concentration. I was sure I heard this voice before it could not be him. He was killed in the great fire.“Starykiller?” “Yeah, why do you ask.”, the boy says. “It's me Demonic Stardust, but you died in the great fire.” “Demonic Stardust? No, The Killjoys saved me. They put me in a shelter and then they left me with a bunch of others who were also saved by them. They healed me.” I'm walking towards him. He's about 5'9 and has black hair. He used to be pale but from the walking in the desert he got a tan. “I so missed you, why didn't you tell me?” “I didn't know where you were and which side you were on.” Everywhere around us people are uniting. Old friends meeting again and new friendships beginning.
