[video / day] little rabbit's Christmas wish

Dec 21, 2011 08:37

It's been so quiet lately. People keep disappearing...

Santa, if you exist in this world, can you protect my friends and keep them safe?

It is very quiet now, is it not? Maybe it is a good thing that people are returning to their homes? That is what I would like to believe, but I know we have no way of knowing for certain.

What is Santa?

I hope that they're all safe.

Santa's a man who brings people presents on Christmas!

[ she pauses for a moment, looking down as she draws him, then holds it up to the camera. It's a typical image of Santa but with a manga style to it. ]

He looks kind of like this!

I hope so, too. People I cared about have gone away, and I would not want to see anyone harmed. It seems that others have left in the past and then later returned, so it is likely that when people leave here, they wake and return to their own lives. Perhaps they will be happier, when they do.

[He looks at the picture. The image of a bearded man in red doesn't appear that strange to him, but he still doesn't understand.]

I see. Is he someone you know? I imagine it is kind of him to give gifts, but what is Christmas?

I hope they're happy too.

[ Chibiusa smiles ]

Santa is a man who lives at the North Pole. Everyone knows Santa! He delivers presents every Christmas Eve across the world. Christmas is December 25th. It's a day to give each other presents too.

These are things from your world that I am not familiar with. A day to give presents... It is good that such a thing exists, and I can see why people would enjoy it, but is there a reason behind it?

How does Santa deliver presents all across the world in a single day? He must be very powerful.

It's a day to give to people and spend time with friends and family! There's a religious origin, I think, but it's still a day for giving.

[ her religion is never mentioned, but she's probably Shinto, like much of Japan, and she does visit the local Shinto Shrine ]

Magic, of course!
