ten; video; day
[This message starts off showing a video from the night before. A shaky and unfocused view of a floor, with sounds of a struggle nearby. The camera swings around to show gumshoewizard and failedparenting grappling with solarpurpura. She's tiny between the two men, covered in livid purple and black bruises from their hands, and it's hard to see what sort of fight she could possibly be putting up against them. As Harry turns, though, it's clear there's strange burns on him, and both the men seem to be trying to keep Eden's hands down and away from them. Eden's crying, visibly, and she tries to turn back to look at Kelly, but then she's dragged out of the room. The video drops, showing floors and walls again, then cuts.
It picks up again with Kelly, sitting in his room, clearly now day. There are signs of bruises on his face under his mask, and there's none of his usual smile or humour as he speaks.]
These two vigilantes carted Eden off to the Unnatural last night. I guess this must be what we do now. Latch on to one flimsy piece of so-called 'evidence' and use it as an excuse to beat up eighteen year old girls. I'm surprised they didn't have a pyre set up outside, just burn her at the stake right there and then.
[He stops for a moment, aware he's falling into some hyperbole, but it's easy to do when you're angry.]
If any of you think this is justice, then maybe you deserve being stuck in this place with the scientist and his torture pit. It's clearly the same system you believe in.
