Ace ☀ 005 [night] [video/teneka/action] [forwarded to day 5]
[The PORTAL comes on by accident to the sound of boots on deck, showing Ace as he moves about the deck of his ship and up to the rigging so he can clamber up to see just how bad it is out at sea. The view isn't fantastic on his end as he calls down to whoever else is on the ship with him but the den den doesn't catch that, instead it broadcasts the sea, the water now blood, thick and frothing around the ship as if restless.
Something bobs, glinting of gold and silver catching what little light there is to be found.
It - a mermaid, something Ace is familiar with - looks up at the PORTAL, rising above the water before slipping back beneath the bloody waves again, just as there's the thump of Ace's boots as he jumps back down, sighing.]
There isn't much I can see from here, not without taking the ship further but I don't want to do that. I can't even see the striker either.
[Who knows where the hell that is. There's a splash and he tenses, blood sloshing up over the deck and cautiously, one hand on fire, he makes his way to the railing. The den den moves closer to him, showing Ace's left arm and the sea as a mermaid pops up, coy smile on her face as she shakes blood out of her long sweep of hair.]
It's so horrible out here~
Is anything trying to attack you?
[She nods in response to Ace's question and he leans forward a little more to see if she has any wounds.
But then...then she starts to sing.]
[There's uneasiness from Ace but at the same time he can't look away, bracing his weight on the railing, bicep flexing as he does so and she climbs up the side, still smiling, one hand outstretched to him as she sings and then Ace's thoughts go quiet, as if he's under some spell.
Abruptly there's a shriek, just as the song reaches its conclusion.]
Shit!
[And then he's falling, struggling before he hits the water but it's not a long drop so he can barely shift into flame before he's submerged. He sinks but the PORTAL doesn't catch that and instead just shows the furiously bubbling of a struggle for a long time until the water goes still, Ace's hat floating up to the surface.]
